Good Morning to all family, friends and fellow bloggers. I along with the staff at Friends of Island Academy had the privilege of reviewing the film "Flight" starring Denzel Washington. It was an inspiring movie that I believe everyone should go see!!!Without giving the movie away I would like to say that anyone dealing with a substance abuse problem and is in need of some motivation to change then please go see this film!
Also, this week we will going to to see the film documentary "Central Park 5". A film about the 5 young males that allegedly committed a gang rape on a successful young white women jogger in Central Park. They charge in the 1980's during the Mayor Koch administration by the NYPD of these crimes. These young men tried to tell anyone that would listen for years that their statements were wrongfully abused by the police. They alleged that their statements were coerced and that they didn't have proper legal representation. This will be a great film and a eye opener to the black community that we must wake up and stand together and take charge to what needs to be done.
