Jeffrey Thompson is a 19 year old young man from the Bronx, NY. He is the the middle child of 3 living in a single parent house hold. His father past away some time ago. Leaving him with no positive male role model to look up too. After having been institutionalized for half a year on Rikers Island, he willingly decided to come to Friends of Island Academy to save himself from the life he was leaning towards. He dreams of playing college football some day. But before he gets there he has surrounded himself with positive people like his mentor Devon Turner (Director of Youth Outreach & Education). Ms. Turner has paved the way for him to walk onto the road for success. Now it is his turn to make a positive spin on his own life.
On his spare time he expresses himself by writing poetry. Anyone looking from the outside looking in wouldn't know that he is a talented person with passion and drive. Here is a simple of his poetry.
